Hello to all my Fabulous Urban People!!!

This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend the Nzuri Natural Hair Expo in Houston TX. This was a two day event that took place on December 10-11, 2011. This was my first time attending and I had a blast. I'm sure some of you are thinking, "Dang she went all the way to Houston for a hair expo?", and the answer would be yes I did. Anytime I have the chance to attend a hair expo and a natural one at that, I'm there. The natural hair scene in Austin isn't as big as it is in Houston or Dallas, so I travel.

The top sponsor of the event were Miss Jessie's Co-founders and Owners, Titi and Miko Branch. Can I say I love these ladies!!! The are New Yorkers all day from Bed Stey. Not only were they friendly and approachable, they were also easy to relate to. They shared their story from the beginning to where they are now as a brand...very inspiring ladies.

Another vender that caught my eye was The Damn Salon....enough said. The owner is off the chain crazy,but in a fun way. She is the type of friend that you want to have at all your events because she IS the party.

There were other natural hair care vendors at the event as such as Jane Carter Solution, Taliah Waajid, Kera Care, and many others. Also at the event were many vendors that sold custom jewelry, bags, and clothing. I purchased these fire earrings...photo's to come when I wear them. The event also had workshops on how to care for your natural hair (Side note the ticket I purchased included all the workshops, but my tail didn't go to any...SMH).

All and all this is an event I will attend again next year. I met up with my natural hair sista for the last event and we plan on doing more things together. Ohhhh, before I forget I will post pics from this event as well. Now I'm still learning how to work this blog so it may not turn out right...but its all good.
