DIY - Recycling your old Birchboxes
Hey Urban babies, I hope you all survived Black Friday and Cyber Monday. If your like me, then you tend to avoid craziness like that and do most of your shopping online, which a lot of stores were offering Black Friday deals on Thursday!!! Anyway...if you didn't get to pick up all you needed then and funds are a little tight now, let me show you a cool way to recycle something you may already have in your home and turn it into a wonderful gift idea or you can keep it for yourself.
As most of you know from reading my blog, I receive a monthly subscription to Birchbox, https://www.birchbox.com?raf=1d29c. Items ranging from full size to sample size come in this very sturdy cardboard box. Well...I have been holding on to my boxes for a while and I didn't know what to do with them. So of course I went to YouTube and the net to gather some ideas on what to do this the boxes. Now I can't remember where I saw this, but I just loved it....So please check out how I "Recycled" my Birchbox. This are the items I used, but you can use just about anything around your home.
1 - Empty Birchbox
1 - piece of fabric
Scissors
Hot glue gun
Cut your fabric to size, I chose to cover the lid only, but you could cover the base as well. Irion out any wrinkles in the fabric. After cutting the fabric to size and ironing it, I started wrapping the lid like a gift. Pulling the fabric taut and placing the glue on the the cardboard to where I want to place the fabric. I was done in about 5min. A very simple and inexpensive gift that cost about $2 to make. You can add a knob on top or some sort of decorative item to act as a handle.
Ok, that's it. Please try to do this if you have any boxes laying around at home.Post pics in your the comments of how your DIY turned out, I would love to see it...until next time Stay Fabulous.
