Talk Tuesday - Fantasia's New CD, Side effects of You

What up Urban babies!!!! I know...I know it's been a while since I have updated my blog, what can I say, life happens. But don't worry because I am bringing you the hotness with this new post so lets get into it.

Where should I start....I am in LOVE with Fantasia's new cd, Side Effects of You. Y'all when I tell you this CD is a banger please believe me. I reminds me of what R&B use to be. Some love songs sprinkled with some dance joints. Now when it comes to music, I'm old school. I still purchase actual CD's because I enjoy all that the artist puts into bringing their work to life. I love looking at the album art and reading the credits to see who wrote the songs. You don't get that with a music download. Plus, once I own a CD it is more likely to be with me forever. downloads an get lost and erased...so give me my CD please. I purchased my cd from Target www.target.com which included two bonus track for $9.99+tax. The cd has a total of 15 tracks( which I appreciate, because I feel like I'm getting my monies worth).

Ok, back to the cd...let me say my FAVORITE track is Without Me featuring Kelly Roland and Missy Elliot (the prelude to the song is on point also and it features Amber Riley from Glee). Babayyyy, THIS RIGHT HERE, clearly is the new anthem for the ladies. I think of it as a sequel to Beyonce's Upgrade You. Fellas you can rep this song as well, don't get it twisted. We've all had that person in our life that we have helped get to a certain place in their life and they forget how they got there....this song is for them.

Side Effects of You is that love song you listen to when your going through it....YESSSSS....I've been there. This song in my opinion is about heartbreak and getting over that lover. You that love that has you going through withdrawals...yes this is that song.

Change your Mind was channeling the one and only Whitney Houston. This songs tempo and the way she sang the song reminded me of Ms. Houston, I'm your baby tonight. It has that late 80's early 90's vibe to it.

Ain't all Bad is laced with dance hall and reggae rhythms mixed in with a little 90's R&B. I can see myself on the dance floor getting my hawt gal whine on. This song let's us know it's ok to be by ourselves sometime or not if that's what we choose to do. I think we all should learn this and it begins with loving and knowing ourselves well enough to know when to walk away and be ok with it.

I could go on to describe every song on here, but I want to leave something for you all to think about and form your own opinions about. Have you heard Fantasia's new CD, what do you think of it? Do you love it ...do you hate it?  Let me know. If you love real soul and R&B music, this is the CD for you. Ok babies I promise to get better with my updates....until next time STAY FABULOUS!!!!
