Travel - Enjoying Houston on a City Pass, Part II
Wrapping up or 2 day stay in Houston and getting the most out of our money with our City Pass, we went to the NASA Space Center and Kemah Boardwalk.
The Space Center was really nice and huge. When you first walk in there is a large Angry Birds Space play area for the younger kids who may not be interested in the science of it all, lol. Inside there are so many space shuttle component's and artifacts to see. There is a reusable engine, inside of a space shuttle command area, Space suits, and so much more. There are information area's set up throughout the center as well as movie theaters and a food court. You can also take a guided Tram Tour to see where people actually work... Yes, this is an actual working NASA Center. How cool is that... After our visit to the Space Center, we went to Kemah Boardwalk, which was nearby. When planning what sites to see, try to plan locations that are near each other that way your not driving all over the place. Kemah Boardwalk is a mini amusement park located on the water. I can't remember the name of the body of water that it's located on, but it's a nice size of water. Kemah Boardwalk is owned by the Landry Corporation and there are many of their restaurants located on the property. If food and rides are your thing, then I would recommend choosing Kemah Boardwalk as one of your options for your City Pass.
All and all, purchasing a City Pass is the way to go. If I'm in s city that offers one, I will definitely look into purchasing it, especially if it has locations and sites I want to see. Other ways to enjoy any city you visit is to request information in the mail and contacting their Visitors/Traverlers Center for more information as well as recieve valuable coupons to use on your trip. Also check with you hotel reward programs to see if any current promotions are going on to help you save on your hotel room. I also recommend checking discount sites like Priceline, Groupon, and Living Social to name a few. Remember there are many options out there to make your vacation affordable and fun no matter your budget. I hope this has been helpful information to get you thinking and inspired. Until next time...Stay Fabulous!!!
