Wellness Wednesday - Benefits of dry brushing skin
As we approach the fall and winter months, I want to remind you of ways to keep your skin looking healthy and glowing. One great way to enhance the appearance of your skin, is by Dry Brushing. Dry Brushing is the process of stimulating your skin with a dry body brush. Some known benefits of dry brushing include:
Helps to shed dead skin cells which improve the appearance of the skin.
Improve blood circulation and improve muscle tone.
Tighten skin due to increased blood flow which helps remove toxins from the skin.
Skin is able to absorb more nutrients because the skin pores are not clogged.
Cellulite....need I say more?
The best time to dry brush is in the morning before you shower and it can be done daily. I try to dry brush when I can remember. You want to make sure your skin is dry and you're naked...you can't dry brush over clothes people, lol. Also, you want to avoid dry brushing if the skin is irritated or you have any type of rash on the skin. Doing so could further spread your rash or infection. If you are new to dry brushing make sure you purchase a natural bristle brush. Also, try to purchase one with a long handle so you are able to reach your entire body with no problems. When I dry brush, I like to use long downward strokes as well as ones in circular motions. This all helps to stimulate the cells and fat under your skin as well as your lymph nodes. Overall improving the circulation and and blood flow of your entire body. Check out this article for more benefits of dry brushing, http://www.jashbotanicals.com/articles/skin_brushing.html.
Remember, they're are plenty of homeopathic remedies that we can do at home to improve our overall health...what are some of your home remedies that are tried and true with you? Leave it in the comments below, until tomorrow....Stay Fabulous!!!
