Spring has arrived,  so what better time than now to make some changes to your skincare routine. Living in the great state of Texas we have two seasons, Warm and Hot. If you've ever lived here you completely understand why I gave us two fictional seasons. We are blessed with beautiful weather almost year round, which allows me to only tweak my skincare regimen slightly. In our cooler months I will use a heavier night cream, but for the most part it remains the same year round. As I'm starting to notice some signs of aging, it's important to me to use products that will benefit my skin as the aging process begins to take place. Water  should always be in the top spot when it comes to skincare. We all know the benefits of drinking plenty water so I want get into that. The next step is using products that target the area you are trying to improve or maintain. I recently purchased this skincare set from Ulta. It's a  Mario Badescu Anti Aging Kit. We've all had to deal with this issue at some point in our life. Sometime the outcome is wonderful, sometimes....ummm, not so much. The one thing I'm big on is great customer service. I feel as the years go by, this is becoming a lost art form. Gone are the days where, "The customer is always right" attitudes are used to resolve issues. I know, every customer can't be right all the time, but it's reassuring when a company goes above and beyond to make you happy as a consumer. Recently I had a wonderful experience with the King Oscar Brand. I love sardines and I recently feel in love with the quality and taste of their sardines. The only issue I have, is a can of their sardines can run you anywhere from $2.50 - $3.00 a can. I expect to pay more for quality and I don't mind, but it can become a little expensive. I decided to email the company and voice my concern. In the email I raved about the great taste and I also requested some coupons for future purchas...

A few weeks ago I was sent some bath products from Nubian Heritage from the Pachouli and Buriti line. I was sent the body butter and bar soap. Nubian Heritage is the sister company to Shea Moisture. At first I was apprehensive about about the Pachouli scent because I associate that smell with older ladies and hippies. Not like that's a bad thing, but the older ladies love Pachouli, lol. To my surprise, I actually love this version of the scent. It has a very light and floral smell with small hints of earthy undertones. What I liked most about the soap is how much it lathered for being a moisturizing soap. My skin felt amazing!!!  I could tell the difference between this soap and others I've used before. It moisturized my skin as it cleaned and it wasn't drying on my skin. My skin wasn't extremely dry when I rinsed off. After my shower, I used the body butter. If you have extremely dry skin, this body butter is for you. Once I applied the butter to my skin...it literally...

You have come back into my life at the perfect time and I can't wait to get down and dirty with you... Yes honey, Being Mary Jane is back and who is excited is me!!!! I'm so ready to pick up where we left off last season. The drama, the cheating, the babies....the babies. I live this show so much because it is relatable. I see bits and pieces of my life in this show that is why I have a connection, not to mention the amazing actors that bring the show to life especially that Omari. Where do I begin...taking the time to reflect on all the wonderful things that have happened to me in 2014. I've talked about owning my own business for many years, but I wasn't sure on what I wanted to do. I love food and I love beauty...I chose to start with bath and body products. I didn't launch my Etsy page until August, with the push from my daughter.  I create handcrafted, natural and organic bath and body products that I create from scratch. Business had been of to a great start and it can only continue to go up from here. June 2014 - I TURN 40!!!! Today I wanted to make my big return to writing for my blog. I have so much to share with you and I was very excited for today, that was until I heard the news last night.... November 22, 2014 Cleveland PD MURDERED Tamir Rice, 12yrs old. This CHILD was at a park playing with a toy gun before a rookie officer took his life. August 5, 2014 Beavercreek PD MURDERED John Crawford III, 22yrs old. Mr. Crawford was shopping in Walmart when the local police answered a call that an armed man was walking around the store. Mr. Crawford was in the store walking around with a pellet/BB Gun in his hands the he picked up off a shelf in the store. There is a video on the Internet that show Mr. Crawford throwing the gun down and falling to the floor as the cops approch him. It's unclear on what was said, because there is no audio on the video. August 9, 2014 Officer Darren Wilson MURDERED unarmed Michael Brown, 18yrs old. Mr. Brown was walking in the middle of the street according to Officer Wilson....

When it comes to maneuvering in the kitchen..ya girl is nice with the pots and pans. I enjoy cooking for large crowds and and during the holidays. It's funny, because my family knows that when I'm in the kitchen, no one is allowed to help me. And in the off chance I do ask for help, I don't know how to let go and let them take control (can we say OCD). I guess you have to enjoy cooking to understand. I like things done a certain way or I want to use certain ingredients...it's a process, I know. Having the satisfaction of seeing everyone's face of delight does something to me. For a while, I was in a slump and everyday cooking was starting to bore me. Lately, however, I have been in the mood to experiment with cooking. I have tons of cookbooks, but I hardly open them. What's the use of having a cookbook if you're not going to use it? Is it there to collect dust or be a pretty adornment sitting on your bookshelf?  So I picked up one of my books, wiped the dust...
